Restoration Questions Answered

The important details before you send photos, accept a quote, or request a mirror polish finish.

How do I get a quote?

Send clear WhatsApp photos of the full knife, the cutting edge, blade faces, handle, and any damaged areas. A photographic assessment is used to quote before drop-off.

How long does sharpening or restoration take?

Most accepted jobs are ready within 1 to 5 business days depending on quantity and job complexity. Larger restoration batches or heavy polishing can take longer.

Can you remove every scratch or gouge?

No. Mirror polishing can significantly reduce scratches, but deep gouges or previous damage may remain. You will be told when a mark is likely to be permanent.

Is mirror polishing the same as sharpening?

No. Sharpening restores the cutting edge. Mirror polishing is a cosmetic blade-face upgrade and does not change the cutting performance by itself.

Do I need to pay upfront?

Full payment on acceptance secures the booking slot. No slot is held until payment has been received.

Where do I drop off and collect?

ApexEdge Blade Works is workshop based in Boston. Drop-off and collection are by appointment, with the time and address confirmed after quote acceptance.

What happens if extra work is found later?

Pricing is based on photographic assessment first. If the physical item needs extra work, you are contacted before anything additional proceeds.

Need a specific assessment?

If your knife has serious rust, chips, loose handles, deep scratches, or sentimental value, send photos before bringing it in.

Send clear photos for a quote

Photos let ApexEdge separate functional sharpening, edge repair, and cosmetic polishing before the quote is accepted.
